Gator Giving Day

Texas Parks & Wildlife estimates there are roughly 400-500K alligators in Texas, with high concentrations in the coastal wetlands surrounding Houston. Their local presence, resilience and ferocity led early students to select them as UHD's mascot. For a gift of $19.74 (honoring our founding year) or more to the UHD Annual Fund, you can give one of these campus icons a name—and make a life-changing difference for UHD students. When you name a gator, you’ll receive a personalized digital certificate recognizing your generosity and featuring your gator's special name. Display it with pride - your support lives on in the legacy of our campus! Your gift also grants you the "unofficial authority" to point at any gator in White Oak or Buffalo Bayous and address it by its new name. Just don’t expect them to come when called!
