The Gator Resource Center (GRC) serves as a centralized hub dedicated to supporting the holistic success and well-being of University of Houston–Downtown students. Our mission is to ensure that every Gator has access to essential resources that help remove barriers to persistence, retention, and academic achievement. By addressing students’ basic needs, we create pathways for stability, empowerment, and long-term success.
The GRC brings together a wide range of vital campus and community services in one welcoming location. Our center houses Gator Mart, UHD’s food pantry that provides free groceries to students; Gator Shoppe, which offers clothing and essential items; plus the Gator Lounge, a quiet and supportive space for academic focus and GRC centered events. The GRC works to connect students to resources, referrals, and support systems both on and off campus. Through these programs and partnerships, we aim to meet students where they are and respond to their needs with care and respect.
We offer support both in person and virtually, ensuring that all students, including online and working learners, can access help when they need it. Our knowledgeable and compassionate staff are committed to solution-focused guidance, assisting students with concerns related to food and housing insecurity, financial wellness, emergency support, and community referrals.
